  • Location: The Lodge is 2.5 miles from town, located in a woodland area in a glacial river valley
  • Job Categories: Housekeeping, Laundry, Food and Beverage and Front Desk/Guest Services. Supervisory and entry level jobs available
  • Operating Season: Early May - mid-September
  • Nearest Towns: Seward (winter population 2,528/summer population 8,500)

  • Local Transportation: Employees can ride the guest shuttle which runs every hour from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The shuttle runs between the Lodge, Small Boat Harbor and downtown Seward. Taxi services are available 24 hours a day.
  • Driving Opportunities: Applicants who are interested in positions where it is necessary to drive a company vehicle must meet the following conditions: 
    • Hold a current CDL
    • Pass a DOT physical medical exam
    • Pass an Instant Driving Record background check
    • Pass pre-employment and random drug test

Employee Housing

  • Available to employees 18 years of age and older
  • First-come, first-served basis, with preference given to out-of-town employees
  • Drug/smoke/pet free environment. (Smoking is permitted in designated areas)
  • Rules and policies apply for the safety and comfort of all employees
  • Quiet time applies between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM
  • Housing is available for up to 104 employees, and consists of 43 cabins/rooms, two trailers, and eight rooms with private bathrooms for managers/supervisors. There are two people in each room. 
  • The Lodge has a staff commons building that accommodates male and female bathrooms with showers, a laundry facility, kitchen area and sitting room with television.
  • Complimentary WiFi is available
  • Bedding and towels are provided
  • The kitchen area is equipped with refrigerators, stoves, and microwaves; however, employees provide their own cooking utensils
  • Employee housing costs $6 per person per day
  • Employees are required to sign a housing agreement if provided with company housing

  • Employee Perks: In addition to competitive wages we offer employee perks and discounts on Kenai Fjords Tours day cruises, discounts on Lodge room rates, restaurant discounts and many other deals for a variety of Alaska adventures in the area.
  • Local Transportation: Kenai Fjords Lodge is located on Fox Island and transportation is provided by Kenai Fjords Tours. Everything on the island is walking distance, and the only mode of transportation is by foot. In Seward, the housing is located a few blocks from the harbor (where Kenai Fjords Tours is located). Taxi services are available 24 hours a day

Employee Housing

  • Available to employees 18 years of age and older

  • A quiet time between 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM is in place

Fox Island

  • Room and Board is included for Fox Island Employees
  • The Crew Housing on Fox Island was rebuilt in 2013 and has all the basic necessities, including wireless internet. There is a large common area with a TV to watch movies, kitchen with propane stove and refrigerator, 5 large shared bedrooms (all units split by male and female rooms) and shared bathrooms/showers.
  • There are no laundry facilities located on the island. 

Crew Facility in Seward

  • The crew facility in Seward is a shared hostel-style housing unit with four rooms (2 bunk beds in each room) for our employees. It is located upstairs from our main warehouse. You will be assigned a unit with several others (all units split by male and female rooms) and rotate out of the room for your days off.
  • There is a common lounge and kitchen area, free laundry facilities, Wi-Fi and 2 shared bathrooms.
  • The Seward housing facility is centrally located and within walking distance to all major businesses

Air

Closest commercial airport is the Ted Stevens International Airport, located in Anchorage, AK  

Driving

2.5 hours from Anchorage along the Seward Highway 

Shuttle Bus/Van

Travel is available year round via Seward Bus Line 907-224-3608 or 907-563-0800. The Seward Bus Line will drop-off at Kenai Fjords Tours or the Seward Windsong Lodge and pick-up from the airport, upon request.

Bus

Travel is available from May 15 – September 15, 2017 via Park Connection Motorcoach 800-266-8625.  The Park Connection will drop-off at Kenai Fjords Tours or the Seward Windsong Lodge. Employees are eligible to receive a discount

Train

Travel is available from May 13 - September 17, 2017 via the famous Alaska Railroad. Employees are eligible to receive a discount

What to Bring

The summer climate can be absolutely gorgeous, hot and sunny one day, then grey, cold and rainy the next, so employees need an assortment of clothing. Some suggestions are:

  • Windproof rain jacket and pants 
  • Waterproof hiking boots and/or rain boots 
  • Warm layers (sweaters, fleece and base layers)
  • Summer clothing and sandals for warm weather
  • Uniform pants and shoes
  • Headlamp or flashlight 
  • Seward Windsong Lodge employees will need to provide their own cooking items (pots, pans, plates, utensils, etc.)
